Assumptions, results and research status
Conditional representation reconstruction and exact finite anomaly checks
Assumptions
- Five carrier modes obey a supplied canonical anticommutation algebra.
- The complete even sector reachable by pair creation is retained without independent flavor multiplicity.
- Each component is assigned an independent left-handed Weyl field on an assumed four-dimensional spin spacetime.
- Gauge action is the untwisted exterior lift of the determinant-linked carrier action.
Results
- The retained internal space has dimension 16 and decomposes into six familiar multiplets.
- All relative hypercharges follow from q=−2p+3r with Y=q/6.
- The displayed perturbative anomalies cancel and the ordinary weak doublet test gives an even count.
Open questions
- Can a local completion dynamics select CAR, even completion and physical chirality?
- Can mirror states decouple consistently in a chiral regulator?
- What selects three neutral flavor copies, Higgs dynamics, Yukawa values and mixing?
A group becomes physical through its representations
A gauge group specifies possible local transformations. A matter representation specifies which fields respond to them and with what charges. The same group admits many representations, including trivial, vectorlike and chiral spectra. Reconstructing S(U(3)×U(2)) therefore does not by itself reconstruct quarks, leptons or their interaction strengths.
The sevenfold manuscript adds a separate matter functor. Its value is that one explicit rule calculates the multiplet list and all relative charges together. The result is conditional on that rule and on an independent Weyl-field interpretation. This article uses all-left-handed notation: uc, dc and ec are left-handed conjugates of the usual right-handed fields, so their non-Abelian representations and Abelian charges are conjugated.
Anomaly cancellation is then a quantum consistency check on the proposed chiral representation. It is not a substitute for specifying that representation or constructing a local interacting measure.
The additional exterior-completion principles
Set E=E3⊕E2, a complex rank-five space with retained total volume. First assume a cyclic vacuum module of five anticommuting creation operations associated with E. The full internal module is the exterior algebra ΛE, with dimension 2⁵=32.
Next retain the full sector reachable from the distinguished degree-zero vector through arbitrary pair creation. Every pair changes exterior degree by two; conversely every even monomial is a product of pairs. The retained module is therefore
Finally, assign each internal component an independent left-handed Weyl field and use only the inherited exterior gauge action, without extra central twists. These are substantive physical inputs. Pair reachability is algebraic closure, not a charge-conserving time evolution: some pair creators carry gauge charge and need an actual field or environment to realize them dynamically.
The degree-zero vector is an internal label. It becomes a neutral field component under the Weyl assumption; it is not the physical no-particle vacuum of quantum field theory.

The resulting multiplet table
The primitive block circle has weights −2 on E3 and +3 on E2. Exterior bidegree (p,r) has q=−2p+3r, and the conventional hypercharge is Y=q/6. Decomposing each even exterior degree gives:
| Field | Exterior sector | SU(3)×SU(2) | q | Y | Components |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q | E3⊗E2 | (3,2) | 1 | 1/6 | 6 |
| uc | Λ²E3 | (3̄,1) | −4 | −2/3 | 3 |
| dc | Λ²E3⊗Λ²E2 | (3̄,1) | 2 | 1/3 | 3 |
| L | Λ³E3⊗E2 | (1,2) | −3 | −1/2 | 2 |
| ec | Λ²E2 | (1,1) | 6 | 1 | 1 |
| νc | Λ⁰E | (1,1) | 0 | 0 | 1 |
The antitriplets follow from Λ²3≅3̄. The same module has the familiar algebraic packaging 1⊕10⊕5̄ under an SU(5) embedding. This is established representation mathematics used by the construction. The retained splitting still gauges only the determinant-linked subgroup; it does not introduce off-block SU(5) gauge bosons or grand-unified dynamics.
Every sector descends through the Z6 quotient
The covering-group kernel is generated by (e2πi/3I3,−I2,eiπ/3). If a representation has color triality t3, weak parity t2 and charge q, it descends precisely when q+2t3+3t2 is divisible by six.
For Q, the sum is 1+2+3=6. For uc, it is −4+4=0, because an antitriplet has triality two. For L, it is −3+3=0. More generally an exterior sector has t3=p modulo three and t2=r modulo two, so the sum equals 6r.
This test checks the global group action and is separate from anomaly cancellation. Congruence-compatible charges can still be anomalous; locally anomaly-free real charge choices may fail to exponentiate to the specified compact quotient. A complete model needs both checks and a choice of allowed gauge bundles.

The anomaly cancellations can be checked by hand
Use integral q values to avoid fractions, dropping common nonzero normalization factors in mixed indices. The two weak components of Q give two color fundamentals, while uc and dc give antitriplets. Thus the color cubic coefficient is 2−1−1=0.
The cubic contributions are 6, −192, 24, −54, 216 and 0. The multiplicities count every Weyl component, not just one field label. Replacing q by Y=q/6 rescales a vanishing coefficient to zero. Terms with a single simple-group generator vanish by its tracelessness.
The fundamental weak doublet count is three color copies of Q plus one L, giving four. It passes the ordinary SU(2) global anomaly test on spin backgrounds. This does not classify every quotient-group bundle on non-spin backgrounds or construct the quantum chiral measure. The anomaly explorer exposes these exact sums and the representation assumptions behind them.

Why anomaly cancellation does not choose the spectrum
Forget the exterior action and keep the six non-Abelian representations with arbitrary Abelian charges. Allow Dirac Yukawa terms with a scalar doublet of charge h. Writing qQ=x and qL=ℓ gives qu=−x−h, qd=−x+h, qe=−ℓ+h and qν=−ℓ−h.
The weak mixed anomaly requires ℓ=−3x. The remaining mixed and gravitational anomalies then cancel, and the cubic anomaly is −6h²(3x+ℓ)=0. There are two continuous charge parameters before imposing a compact charge lattice and global quotient constraints. Hypercharge and B−L span this familiar local freedom when the sterile state is included.
The exterior action fixes the primitive choice (x,h)=(1,3). Alternatively, requiring qν=0 or a continuous-gauge-invariant sterile Majorana mass imposes h=3x. These are additional restrictions. Removing the neutral singlet altogether leaves the five charged multiplets anomaly-free, so anomaly cancellation does not require its existence. It validates the proposed module without independently selecting it.
Exterior parity is not spacetime chirality
The retained volume pairs complementary exterior degrees. Since the total rank is five, it identifies the odd module with the conjugate of the even module. Keeping both as independent left-handed fields yields mirror pairs and a vectorlike spectrum. The matter assumptions retain only one of these independent Weyl modules.
A finite internal Hamiltonian Hpair=Δ[I−(−1)N]/2 can place the even sector at zero and the odd sector at energy Δ. It is gauge-invariant and verifies an internal parity selector. It does not provide a Lorentzian Weyl operator or a local Lorentz-invariant mass mechanism that removes a mirror generation.
Physical chirality concerns spacetime spinors and their gauge actions. Internal exterior degree concerns a finite representation. A regulator must explain how it implements the former while maintaining gauge invariance and a consistent measure. The known challenges of local lattice chirality are not solved by assigning a finite energy to an unwanted internal label.

Allowed interactions are calculable; their coefficients are not
Add the scalar H∈E2 with q=3 and Y=1/2. Gauge-invariant two-component Yukawa structures include QucH, QdcH*, LecH* and LνcH. Their charge sums are 1−4+3, 1+2−3, −3+6−3 and −3+0+3, all zero. A sterile Majorana bilinear is also allowed.
The group permits independent coefficients for these interactions. The common exterior notation does not force equality of Yukawa matrices or SU(5) mass relations. A nonzero Higgs vacuum and a potential selecting it are additional dynamical inputs. After symmetry breaking, charged masses come from transition singular values and their normalization.
Without extra scalars, the only gauge-invariant Weyl mass bilinear within this single retained generation is the neutral sterile term. Higher-dimensional baryon/lepton-number violating operators can also be compatible with the group, so their absence or suppression requires an additional restriction. Listing allowed invariants is a precise selection-rule calculation, not a complete phenomenological model.

Three colors cannot be reused as three neutral families
To obtain three gauge-identical generations, the representation must have a gauge-neutral multiplicity factor F, giving F⊗M+ with dim F=3. Repeating a generation then multiplies its vanishing anomaly sums by three. What remains is selecting that multiplicity and its flavor interactions.
The manuscript gives a useful countercheck. The section space H⁰(CP²,O(1)) has dimension three, but if CP² is built from the same color triplet E3, its sections transform as the dual color representation. Tensoring them with the quark triplet gives 3̄⊗3=1⊕8, not three copies of 3. Counting three modes is insufficient unless their gauge action is shown to be trivial.
Spectral replication remains a possible mechanism: different protected windows could carry identical representations and different transitions. It must explain the number of windows, neutral flavor action, masses, mixing and stability. The conditional one-generation reconstruction is a substantial finite result while these physical tasks remain open.
