The role assigned to hyper symmetry
In Ultimate Symmetry, hyper symmetry names the proposed encompassing relation between the spiritual realm and the complementary physical and psychical domains. The term belongs to the book’s hierarchy of manifestation. Its purpose is to express how a level can encompass distinctions that appear separate from a more restricted perspective.
The original explanation is preserved in Unity and manifestation. Read it alongside the five-level map so that “hyper” is understood in its place in that argument, rather than inferred from the name alone.
Distinguish the hierarchy from an algebra
The similarity between “hyper symmetry” and “hyperbolic” can obscure their different roles. The first names a level in the book’s interpretation. A hyperbolic transformation is a mathematical operation that preserves a specified indefinite quadratic form. To connect them, a model must supply the states, the operation, and the observable meaning of the preserved form.
For example, split-complex numbers use a unit j with j² = +1. Multiplication by cosh η + j sinh η preserves u² − v² for u + jv. This algebraic identity does not, on its own, identify u and v with physical and psychical domains. Such an interpretation requires additional definitions. The two-algebras guide derives the identity and separates it from ordinary complex phase.
A question for further development
What does an encompassing description retain that the separate descriptions omit? A productive model would specify a common state and two restricted readouts, then show which relations can be reconstructed from each readout and which require both. This would make the language of complementarity operational within that model.
Explore Duality and complementarity for examples of how descriptions can be related, and Source and manifestation for the philosophical reading. The physical interpretation can then be assessed through its own observables, while the broader interpretation remains available in the book.
